Strangers in Paradise

This month marks our ten year anniversary in Santa Cruz. How time flies... we must have been having fun. Mason was starting second grade, and I was a stay at home dad with Kirsten. The very best years of my life. We had lots of fun playing together, and exploring our new world. Every Wednesday, we'd take an exploration trip to someplace new. Life was free and easy in those days. We lived on Happy Valley Road... no hyperbole in the name. Our property bordered a large organic pear orchard, and had towering Redwoods and Eucalyptus Trees standing as sentinels over our home. A lovely little creek wound through the woods, and past our house. At night, the hollow sound of hooting Owls echoed through the tall trees while crickets kept perfect time. Life was good.
