Here Come the Floods - 2011 Preview

I've been behind the Zion Curtain for nearly a month now, and I'm getting really excited to head back to Santa Cruz for a month of sun, surf and sand... not to mention the bikinis - things I haven't seen here in Tooele.

The weather here has been exceptionally bizarre, with either rain or snow for the majority of days we've been in Utah. It even snowed again today, Memorial Day, the second to last day in May, 2011.

Utah is about to experience flooding like it hasn't seen since before the Obama/Bush Wars. Back in 1983, there was widespread flooding in Utah, and the conditions then pale in comparison to the current flood potential.

Today the water in the Tooele Reservoir is less than a foot from going over the spillway, and there is still so much un-melted snow remaining in the mountains, that there is a possibility of flooding here, too. Fortunately, measures have been taken to prepare for conditions like those experienced in 1983, and we'll soon find out how prepared we really are.
