Cancun Fan

The water at Cancun is stunning and exhibits a beautiful aqua blue hue. The contrasting white sandy beaches help to highlight the crystal-clear Caribbean water. The sun's rays pass through the shallow water and reflect on the white sand, illuminating the water with an electric aqua blue. Beautiful!

It must have been incredible fifty years ago, before the hundreds of hotels that now pollute the skyline arrived on the scene. Unfortunately, the lovely beaches and the ruins at El Rey are the only things Cancun has going for it now. The circus atmosphere there is too much like Las Vegas. Superficial and silly. At least Vegas is cheap. Cancun prices were excessive, and way beyond the price range of the average Mexican citizen... and it's their country.

The locals and hotel operators seem to be out to scam the tourist out of as much money as possible, prompting the Rhetro Zenberg term Scamcun. A myriad of time-share salespeople, (who don't understand the meaning of the word no), barrage the tourists with promises and enticements. We had a great time frustrating their scams. I hate that kind of thing.

Cancun is like a beautiful flower with a big steamy dog turd placed right in the middle of it. Some people like that kind of thing though.
